This is a newsletter for conscientious builders.

Kevin Kelly says “Technology is a living force that can expand our individual potential—if we listen to what it wants.” If you are a builder of technology for other humans, it’s crucial to understand the impacts. My goal is to be optimistic about technology, but also pragmatic about the potential downfalls. We must understand technology as the living adversary that only we can control. Builders have infinite responsibility and must use it.

👋 Hi, I'm Sachin

I tend to get really excited about most things. I have books piled up all over the house, snippets all over my computer, and partially completed projects all over my workshop.

Time for an eyebrow trim. This is what 1+ year off work zoom calls looks like.

More about me

  • Family: Dad of 2, husband of 1.

  • Work: Currently on sabbatical / getting kids back to post-covid routines. Formerly a product leader (Facebook, Avvo) and software engineer (Microsoft, Expedia).

  • Hobbies:

    • Reading: running out of shelves, happily haven't read most of them.

    • Training (emergent): daily habit and accountability by Tess at Future

    • Cooking: quick and tasty dinner is the goal. Mostly out of The Wok,  Simple, Bittman Bread, Repertoire

    • Crying in October: I'm old enough to be allowed an AL team (Mariners) and NL team (Mets). This is the season (always).

    • Investing: not other people's money. Just starting on the angel stuff and learning.

    • Making: 3d printing, woodshop, basic circuits. Not aiming for usefulness.

    • Coding: learning Swift and brushing up on my R and Python
